STATEMENT

of the Azerbaijan Democratic Student & Youth Organization (ADSAYO)

regarding the attacks of the Armenian armed forces on the Azerbaijani positions & casualties

On April 2, 2016, the Armenian armed forces attacked to the Azerbaijani positions along the front line in the Azerbaijani occupied territories by means of a new provocation, subjected the settlements to heavy shelling by using large-caliber weapons & heavy artillery. As a result, the civilians living in neighboring villages were killed & wounded & the economy suffered considerable damage. In order to prevent these provocative & offensive operations the Azerbaijani armed forces were forced to respond the invaders to ensure the safety of the civilian population & 16 soldiers of the Azerbaijani army were killed while repulsing the invaders provocation.

As is said in the appeals repeatedly declared by the Azerbaijani side & addressed to the international organizations, these diversions are the phenomenon of Armenia’s belittling the international laws, disregarding the decisions of the global & regional organizations, endangering peace in the region at any time & as a whole the result of the insidious policy of the occupying state against Azerbaijan.

Unfortunately, while the authoritative international organizations including the UN, OSCE & Council of Europe repeatedly adopted resolutions & decisions on Armenian armed forces withdrawing from the occupied Azerbaijani territories unconditionally returning the local civilian population to this land & ensuring the peaceful coexistence here they still demonstrate weakness & dual policy in demanding the execution of these decisions from the occupying state.

OSCE Minsk Group & its US, Russian & French co-chairs have no practical step in this process during this period, instead of putting pressure on Armenia, they played a role of protector to the aggressor and acted as the monopolist of this conflict. In particular, we noticed it in the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs appeal of pressuring nature to the European parliamentarians, as in their role of defender of aggressor Armenia, in order to prevent the adoption of the resolution on "The situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan" in the last session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Being committed to the international law & membership obligations in front of the international organizations, Azerbaijan has unilaterally announced a ceasefire in the front line according to its peaceful mission, however the destruction of the Armenian side continues to this day. As stated by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan at this time, the responsibility rests with the Armenia's criminal leadership as well.

As ADSAYO we condemn the attacks and sabotage of committed by the Armenian army in recent days & demand from you to forfeit your policy of befriending the aggressor country & to launch your concrete mechanism of withdrawing the Armenian forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

We also demand to consider the activity of the OSCE Minsk Group, who has this mandate for 22 years & not made any concrete steps towards the resolution of the conflict, unsatisfactory & demand to call summit of this group with full format & make concrete steps towards resolution of the conflict in a short time & restoration of territorial integrity & borders of Azerbaijan recognized by the UN.

The Azerbaijani youth who is ready to restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, committed to the rights and obligation determined by the UN Charter and the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan hereby declare its readiness to each struggle in liberating our lands occupied by Armenia and appeal to the international forces to support Azerbaijan.

As Azerbaijani youth living in a state of war, we call you to provide your practical contributions to the restoration of peace & tranquility in the world & in the region, termination of the occupation policy of Armenia in violation of stability in the region.
